 Old Fashioned
Picture
The Old Fashioned is one of America’s oldest cocktails. The base for this drink is rye/bourbon whiskey, which is rounded out by the addition of fruit. Its initial popularity was so widespread that a glass was named for it.
Ingredients
  • 2 oz rye or bourbon whiskey - Jim Beam Rye/Knob Creek/Makers Mark
  • 2 maraschino cherries
  • 2 slices of orange
  • 1 teaspoon sugar or 1 small sugar cube
  • 1 teaspoon water
 Preparation
  1. Muddle 1 cherry, 1 orange slice, and the sugar, and water in a chilled Old Fashioned glass
  2. Add the whiskey and ice; stir
  3. Garnish with a maraschino cherry and an orange slice.
